San Diego City Council Approves Minimum Wage Increase

By a 6-3 margin, on July 14, 2014 San Diego’s City Council agreed to raise the hourly minimum wage beginning next year. The ordinance will increase the hourly minimum wage to $9.75 on January 1, 2015, $10.50 in January of 2016 and $11.50 in January of 2017. Beginning in January 2019, the pay scale will be indexed to inflation.
