Jenna M. Rangel is a senior associate with Haeggquist & Eck and focuses her practice on representing employees in labor and employment litigation in federal and state courts throughout California for claims including wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour violations. Jenna prides herself on her strong attention to detail and the great relationships she nurtures and maintains with her clients and approaches every day as an opportunity to stand up for employees, to help right the wrongs perpetrated by employers, and to provide closure so her clients can move on with their lives with a positive outlook for their futures.
A native San Diegan, Jenna graduated in 2010 from California Western School of Law, where her tireless dedication to public interest causes earned her a spot on the school’s Pro Bono Honor Society. During law school, she worked at the nonprofit California Women’s Law Center in Los Angeles on matters relating to gender discrimination in education and Title IX violations (including a high-profile case against the Sweetwater Union High School District in Chula Vista). In addition, she assisted in matters relating to women’s health and lactation accommodations for working mothers. While at CWSL, Jenna also completed an internship program in the Juvenile Dependency Division of the Office of the San Diego County Public Defender, where she assisted in the representation of foster children in court.
Before joining the firm, Jenna worked at a small full-service firm where she focused primarily on employment litigation and counseled employers on a variety of compliance issues. She credits this invaluable experience with her ability to assess the strengths and weaknesses of cases she now handles on behalf of aggrieved employees.
In 2017, the San Diego Business Journal selected Jenna for inclusion in its “Best Of The Bar” list.
Jenna holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from California State University – Chico and a paralegal certificate from the University of San Diego. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and young son.
